Natural Support for Cat and Dog Whipworm Prevention
Worms are just a fact of life when it comes to owning a pet!
Hookworms can infect both dogs and cats with larvae penetrating through their paws from contaminated soil. Hookworms can also be transmitted to pets by eating small animals such as rodents, birds or insects. They live and grow in the small intestine grow where they suck blood from their host and may migrate throughout the body, such as traveling to the lungs, causing more damage that may be fatal. Hookworms can be passed to unborn puppies and to humans. However, kittens cannot be infected in the womb nor can they be infected while nursing. Cats can get hookworms by eating small prey animals that have been infected, or walking on infected soil.
If your furbaby is suffering from hookworms, your vet may recommend an antibiotic or antiparasitic medication. For a more natural approach to a hookworm treatment for dogs and cats, we recommend our Hookworms Kit, which contains NHV Inulin-PK, and NHV Multi Essentials.
Common symptoms of a hookworm infection:
- Weight loss
- Loose, runny stool
