Brussels Griffon

Overview

Overview of Brussels Griffon

How could you not fall in love with the Brussels Griffon's adorable smushed face and big personality? Some say that their faces are so expressive that they are considered to have a human face! So it is no surprise that these spunky dogs have starred in such notable films as Gosford Park, and As Good As It Gets. With their sturdy build and teddy bear looks, the Brussels Griffon is also said to have been the main inspiration for 'Ewoks' in Star Wars Episode V. These dogs can have either a rough coat or a smooth coat and come in either red, beige, black and tan or solid black. Originally bred to chase out rats from kitchens, granaries, and stables in Belgium, these days, the Brussels Griffon is turning heads with their expressive face and big heart instead!

Personality

Personality

The Brussels Griffon is spunkier than most other toy breeds. Courageous, bold, and often high-strung, this little dog (8-12 lbs) can sometimes take themselves too seriously (which is very entertaining to watch)! Their small stature makes them well suited for almost any home. They make an excellent family pet, but early socialization is critical with this breed. A Brussels Griffon who feels ignored may resort to misbehavior to get your attention. So if you want a little dog that looks like an Ewok come to life and will constantly be a source of entertainment, look no further than a Brussels Griffon!
