Common Health Conditions
- All kinds of worms and bugs can invade your Sam Sawet’s body- for example, parasites such as fleas, ticks, mites, and worms can irritate the skin and ears.
- Hairballs can often occur with excessive grooming and licking. While these typically pass through the cats system, sometimes the hairballs can become lodged within the cats stomach or cause intestinal blockage.
- Cats infected with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) may not show symptoms until years after the initial infection occurred. Although the virus is slow-acting, a cat’s immune system is severely weakened once the disease takes hold. This makes the cat susceptible to various secondary infections.
