What is lymphoma in cats and dogs?

Sadly, lymphoma is one of the most common cancers in both cats and dogs, and is related to leukemia.  Lymphatic cancer is caused by the blood forming into tissues.

To learn more about lymphoma in cats and dogs, please visit our blog here.

Are some pets more at risk of getting lymphoma?

Pets (cats and dogs) that have leukemia and / or feline immunodeficiency virus are at a higher risk of developing lymphoma.

Useful information regarding the link between leukemia and pets can be found on our Vet Talk Series by Dr. Cook.

What causes lymphatic cancer in pets?

Veterinary medicine believes that possible causes for pet lymphoma may be due to a viral infection, herbicides, poor immune function and genetic predisposition.

How is lymphoma treated

Conventional treatment for lymphoma in dogs and cats involves chemotherapy.

Quality of life is always a big concern for pet parents considering chemotherapy as treatment for their pet’s lymphoma. Here are some interesting articles in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and the Journal of Small Animal Practice regarding quality of life when using chemotherapy in dogs and cats.

What else can I do to help my cat or dog with lymphoma?

When helping dogs and cats with lymphoma, it is important to support the entire body so that overall wellbeing can be achieved. A holistic approach takes into consideration the importance of boosting and supporting the immune system, since a suppressed immune system increases oxidative stress.

Can these herbal remedies be used in conjunction with chemotherapy?

Yes. If your pet is on chemotherapy you may wish to further support their immune system, appetite, and quality of life with quality natural supplements. As the lymph system is complex, it is also important to help boost and support immune function while addressing the blood and lymph system.

How will these herbal remedies help my pet?

NHV ES Clear may help boost your pet’s immune system. It is important to help the body detoxify and purify the blood so that the pet’s immune system gets stronger.

NHV Felimm is a herbal pet supplement that may help cats and dogs detoxify the blood and lymph system. It also helps fight viral infections and bacterial microorganisms. The herbs in Felimm have traditionally been shown to help with these actions.

NHV Tripsy helps the body flush out toxins and helps support the kidneys. When pets are dealing with lymphoma, waste and toxin filtration from the body may be impacted, further contributing to a decrease in your pet’s health. In addition, when the kidneys are not functioning properly, filtration is reduced and urea can build up in the blood.

Overall, these all natural pet remedies will help your pet’s immune system, help support the lymphatic system and help with energy levels and quality of life. Each remedy is formulated by a dedicated holistic vet and a master herbalist. They are natural and are safe for long term use.

Reviews for each remedy can be found under each product (ES Clear for cats and NHV ES Clear for Dogs, Felimm, Tripsy for cats and Tripsy for dogs). Other interesting pet success stories are:

To be taken twice daily. All NHV supplements are designed to be used together, and can therefore be given at once for convenience.

Maintenance Dosage
1 drop for every 2 lb of body weight twice a day up to 50 lb. This is the minimum dosage. We recommend using this dosage when the supplements are being used as a preventative or for general health. When addressing a condition, we recommend using the therapeutic dosage (see below).

Determine your pet’s weight and then use the chart below to determine the correct dose.

Pet's Weight Dosage (twice daily)
0 - 15 lb 0.5 mL
16 - 30 lb 1.0 mL
31 - 45 lb 1.5 mL
46 - 60 lb 2.0 mL
61 - 75 lb 2.5 mL
Over 75 lb 3.0 mL

How to Administer
Shake well before use. The easiest method is to use the dropper provided and squirt directly into the pet’s mouth or add the correct dosage to your pet's food or favorite treat.

Some pets can be finicky, if this occurs consider hiding the drops in foods most pet’s love such as fish, chicken or yogurt or a favourite treat. If your pet only eats dry food then soak a few kibbles at feeding time.

For Best Results
Herbal dietary supplements are beneficial to the health and wellbeing of your pet and are safe for long-term use. Every pet responds to natural herbal supplements differently, therefore it is important to be consistent and administer the product daily. Supplements generally take two to four weeks to take effect, however this will vary from one animal to the another.

Our beloved cat was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma last September. She looks fine, eating, peeing and pooping normally. We are afraid to find out any more from our vets. We're just doing this day by day. NHV is a twice daily routine. We also feel supported by NHV on our journey. Thanks! *

Hamish is 12 years old and was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma in August of this year. We decided to do chemotherapy and also NHV products. The first few weeks of chemo Hamish slept a lot and we weren't sure if it was working he was also very anemic. Once the herbs arrived I right away administered them to him and within a half an hour Hamish perked up. Since then Hamish has been doing his herbs twice a day and sailing through chemo. He has had six treatments once a3 week and now is doing every other week. He has his energy back, is running around again, has more of an appetite, and his anemia is getting better. I know that Hamish couldn't come through this chemo as well without these products. I am forever grateful. *

Our dog, Odie has been diagnosed with Stage 3-4 Lymphoma. I reached out to NHV to get guidance on supplements that would help support him as he begins his first chemo treatment. The customer support is incredible! They are so quick to respond and so kind! Odie is taking ES Clear, Felimm, Nature’s Imuno, and Milk Thistle. He gets them two times a day and is feeling really well so far. The lymph nodes in his neck have decreased in size and are softer with the help of the supplements and his initial chemo protocol. We are on round two of his supplements and plan to continue them to support Odie. I highly recommend this team and these products - we will expand their use to our other animals as well to keep them as healthy as we can for as long as we are gifted with them. *

Been using this for 3 weeks. My cat has large cell renal and intestinal lymphoma. 2 of these have alcohol in it, although very small amounts. It reeks of alcohol and the cat refuses to eat his food if I put it in his good(even just 1 drop of each product). I've been syringing it, but it's killing our bond and it makes him gag. He hasnt thrown it up at least, but some of it dribbles out. It seems to have lessened his appetite as well. He was previously on life gold and tolerated that well because they FLAVOR IT. I'm astonished anyone gets their cat to consume this willingly. I've even added fish juice or chicken broth to it, but he still hates it. This will probably have to be returned *

My six-year-old black Persian mix kitty, Yogi Bear, had a mass removed. It turned out to be high grade lymphoma. He started chemo and lymphoma gold support. I had to force feed him these liquids because he didn't like them, so it was very stressful for both of us. Then he started peeing blood and possibly had swollen kidneys. Finally, we all we tired of him suffering and we had to say goodbye. I still have his twin plus an orange tabby, one-year old kitty, and I try mixing this in with their food just to use it up but they don't want any part of it. *

My 5 year-old cat got diagnosed with suspected Lymphoma and she had no appetite, no energy, and no bowel movement for 5 days... I was so worried that meds might not help her a lot... So I googled natural pet herbal remedies and I found NHV and ordered Lymphoma Gold right a way.... After 3 days of treatment she got so much better and everything was just back to normal !! She is doing great now and the supplements help boosting her immune system :):) however I am now suspecting she may not have lymphoma... I would certainly try other products from NHV after shez done with the Lymphoma Gold :):):) Thanks a lot NHV!! *

If you have an ailing animal...try this product. Our Mollie has cancer and we were told she’d only have 2-4 months to live. We give her the NHV cancer kit and we’re now on month 3 and she’s still in great condition. You’d never know she had Cancer. *

When Velma, my 9 year old greyhound, was diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma at the end of May 2018 I was devastated. The diagnosing vet had indicated that I would know "it was time" if she stopped eating or had uncontrollable diarrhea. My time with Velma was estimated at another 4-6 weeks. Shortly thereafter, I notice some severe diarrhea and my heart sank. After hearing about NVH on social media and chatting with a representative, it was recommended I start Velma on the Plantaeris and Lymphoma Gold Support. We are now at the 8-week mark with my sweet girl and she is going strong! Velma's appetite is great and her stool is normal. She is enjoying all of her favorite things--rides in the car and cake from the dog bakery :). I am confident that, without these products, Velma would not be here with me today. While an extra two weeks may not seem like a big deal, any extra time I have with her is a blessing. I am confident that, thanks to these products, we have many more weeks together :) *

My nine year old Scottish Terrier, Danny, was diagnosed with lymphoma last August. I have been using the products ever since. Danny came out of remission in April. I truly believe Lymphoma Gold has helped my dog's body with the battle against lymphoma, supported his system through chemo and has improved his quality of life. *

My 5 year old cat was just diagnosed with lymphoma. Did lots of research, as vet would only suggest we put her to sleep. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since he recommended this be done immediately, and other than lasix for reducing fluid buildup, he could not suggest a treatment. I have her on holistic supplements for immune support, and have included "Lymphoma Support" for the past 3 weeks. She is beginning to 'look' better. We are taking it 1 day at a time, but will give her whatever supplements we find that support cats with this condition! It's early days for saying what will help, and that is why I am cautious with stars, but am encouraged by other reviews. *

All the staff are very helpful, patient and genuinely care. The vet couldn't believe how well Shiva is doing. She's gained weight (almost two pounds), her blood work is normal as well as all her other vitals, and we've been able to cut back her prednesolone to once a day (from twice a day) and her chemo pill from every day to every other day. *

It's been two months since I got my dog a Lymphoma gold support. I regularly do a blood test once a month for my dog's health and have a comprehensive test every six months. It must be helping my 12-year-old dog. I plan to feed it constantly. Thank the company nhv *

My Scottish Terrier was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of eight. After a lot of research and careful consideration we decided to treat with Chemo. I have been supplementing with the NHV Lymphoma Gold package, along with Turmeric and natures Immnuno. I was told by my Vet his remission could last for six months. Only 2% of dogs never get the cancer back. I give my dog these supplements twice a day. He loves it on his food. We hope that by using these products... He can be one of the 2%. *

Lucy - California | July 19, 2017

My 11yo cat who was diagnosed with lymphoma went through terrible side effects from chemo, and just as we were ready to give up, ( putting him through unnecessary treatment that only made him worse; lethargic, depressed, wouldn't eat etc ) we discovered NHV's lymphoma gold pack. BEFORE NHV ; Toby Slept 20+ hours a day, came out only for his daily walk outside and went straight to sleep when he was brought in. Throwing up bile and water from the chemotherapy Refused food 50% of the time. (thus the bile^) Skin felt cold and sickly (side effect of the chemo) Stopped grooming himself, became sunken in at the hips and had glossy/dull/pained eyes. I was skeptical about trying a new and somewhat pricey supplement since I believed my wonderful cat was on his last life at the time, he hates to be medicated and the stress was killing both of us. NHV was our and Toby's last chance to keep him with us as long as comfortably possible. AFTER NHV; Within A WEEK OR LESS of giving him the supplements Toby was greeting me at my door every morning for his breakfast, ( and later at dinner, sometimes we can even convince him to eat a bit for lunch! ) He's grooming himself again with an even stronger coat then before. that 'light' has returned to his eyes and he no longer seems to be depressed and stopped hiding. An unknown stomach issue of his that he had for YEARS also seems to have changed and he poops normal regularly! (which didn't happen often) Lastly I want to mention he doesn't exactly like the taste of them, but this is a cat who typically foams at the mouth upon oral medication and even regurgitates if it tastes bad enough - and with NHV's supplements he takes them like a champ with little to no resistance (cause he knows no resistance all the time wouldn't be any fun ) So in the end I would HIGHLY recommend NHV to anyone looking for SAFE and NATURAL supplements that have definitely made a difference in improving my cats quality of life! I will definitely be making another purchase soon for both Toby and my other cats as well. *

Our 8 year old bullmastiff was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma in March of this year. She was lethargic and had significant swelling in her lymph nodes. After we left the vet we researched palliative options for her. We found these products and decided to try them. After using these products for just over a month we noticed a change in our dog. She's more energetic, playful, happy, and has an improved appetite. Also, at her last check up at the vet the swelling in her lymph nodes decreased by over 80%. *
