With their crushed velvet coats, lean build and high cheekbones, the looks of the Cornish Rex are very elegant and almost model-like, which could be why people like fashion designer Michael Kors adores this breed! These cats may look ancient, but they first appeared on the scene in the 1950s in Cornwall, England. Caused by a spontaneous mutation, Cornish Rex kittens were born with short, soft curly hair while lacking the two outer protective layers typical in most cat fur. With their naturally arched back, bat-like ears and oval eyes, the Cornish Rex cat looks somewhat alien - but in a good way!

Fun fact: One Cornish Rex reportedly lived to be 37 years old!

Cornish Rex kittens are very expressive, energetic and talkative kitties who love to play even well into their golden years.
