Description
Just like humans, our pets can develop acute and chronic issues like hepatitis. Give your furkiddo the extra support they deserve with NHV’s Hepatitis Kit.
What is Hepatitis?
Hepatitis is a general term for inflammation of the liver. It is a group of symptoms rather than a specific disease, with a variety of causes. Your dog or cat can develop sudden inflammation in their liver called acute hepatitis or recurring inflammation called chronic hepatitis. Some common causes are toxin buildup (potentially from medication), viral and bacterial infections, immune system imbalances or metabolic disorders (such as hyperthyroidism).
Natural Support for Hepatitis in Dogs and Cats
The liver is the body's filter for toxins. Its main job is to remove toxins out of the blood. Keep in mind that toxins can be a regular part of a healthy liver function, like breaking down fats and protein. In terms of waste management, bile carries most waste into the intestines and out of your pet's body, while the liver and kidneys filter the remaining waste before exiting through the urinary system. Milk Thistle helps support healthy liver and kidney function and protects the liver from oxidative stress, while Turmeric helps promote detoxification and is a rich source of antioxidants. Our Hepatitis Kit can be used for proactive pet care and be helpful for more severe liver damage and inflammation in conjunction with vet-prescribed medication.

FAQ
Humans get hepatitis, can I give my cat/dog hepatitis or can they give it to me?
No. Infectious hepatitis in humans is not transmissible to dogs and cats and the viruses that cause hepatitis in dogs and cats cannot be transmitted to humans.
My cat/dog has normal liver enzyme levels, can they still have hepatitis?
Even if your pet has normal liver enzyme levels, they can still have liver damage. Your vet will need to run other tests to confirm a hepatitis diagnosis.
I read that hepatitis may cause damage to the liver (such as scarring), will the NHV supplements address this?
Our Milk Thistle and Turmeric can definitely encourage liver cell regeneration, add antioxidant support and encourage healthy liver function but they may not be able to reverse existing degeneration or cirrhosis.
to give NHV supplements at the same time as this vet treatment?
If your pet has been hospitalized, we recommend waiting until your pet has been discharged from the hospital before adding anything to their care plan. Once they are home, you can move forward with an integrative care plan (including supplements) to help support their recovery.
