Shiba Inu

Overview

The Shiba Inu is among one of Japan’s six native breeds. They are known for their spirited personality, small upright ears, and cat-like agility. Their bright eyes, soft coat, and bushy tail make for a small dog with a big attitude. Shiba’s are strong-willed and confident, and often have their own ideas about things. They love to herd and chase small animals. Training a Shiba Inu requires some skill due to their stubborn nature and free-thinking spirit. Despite having a tendency to guard food and territory, they are loving and loyal family members and companions.
