Description
With recovery schedules, checkups, and a lot of worry, caring for a pet after surgery can be difficult. That’s why we created our Post-Op Kit.
Even when necessary, surgeries can cause lingering symptoms in pets.
From damaged microflora to discomfort, most pets will need a little extra care to address the issues that arise after surgery. To avoid taxing their bodies a second time, the best approach to helping your fur kiddo is to use something gentle, natural, and non-invasive.
That’s where the NHV Post-Op Kit shines. Like all NHV supplements, the Post-Op Kit is 100% natural and vet-formulated, so you can focus on what really matters: helping your pet feel like themselves again.
Each formula in this kit targets a specific concern for post-surgery pet care.
Support Weakened Immune Systems with BK-Detox
An invasive procedure can cause your fur kiddo’s immune system to weaken. While the procedure was necessary, they may need support in the following weeks and months as their bodies fight off everyday infections.
NHV BK-Detox supplements pets with compromised immune systems with herbs such as red clover and burdock, known for their potential to detoxify the blood and provide antioxidants.
Supporting Post-Op Pets with NHV Probiotics + Prebiotics
Surgeries can affect your pet’s digestive system in two ways - even if the surgery didn’t involve their stomach or gut. First, the stress of the surgery event (and wearing a medical cone afterwards) can contribute to stomach upset and diarrhea. Secondly, the surgery itself may cause constipation and reduced microbiota diversity in the intestines.
Thanks to seven strains of healthy bacteria, NHV Probiotics + Prebiotics supports pets in both areas. These probiotics help to replenish the good bacteria that live in the gut, which are often impacted by surgery. Meanwhile, prebiotics provide fiber and feed the gut flora, allowing good bacteria to reestablish themselves.
Easing Inflammation and Discomfort with NHV Yucca
The yucca plant has many properties as a natural remedy.
Rich in saponins and steroidal compounds, NHV Yucca may help to reduce inflammation and discomfort in the body. As a bonus, yucca may also help stimulate appetite in pets, making it particularly beneficial for pets after surgery who have reduced appetite.
Detox with NHV Milk Thistle
It is likely that all sorts of things were pumped into your fur kiddo’s system before, during, and after their surgery. While necessary, some of these substances can be harsh on your pet.
NHV Milk Thistle may gently support your pet’s liver and kidneys. As the organs responsible for the processing and elimination of toxins, supporting their function as your pet recovers is incredibly important.
Milk thistle is also known for containing Silymarin, a powerful antioxidant that may help protect against liver damage.
Caring for Your Post-Op Pet
In addition to your vet’s recommendations for post-op pet care, the NHV Post-Op Kit can be used 14 days after surgery.
Helping your pet’s surgery recovery can be daunting, but it doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. Our Pet Experts are here if you have any questions about the NHV Post-Op Kit, NHV supplements, or anything else!
