Description

Natural Renal Support for Cats and Dogs

Kidney disease is quite common in senior kitties (1 in 3 cats) but it may be seen in younger cats and dogs of all ages. The first signs that your little one may have kidney issues are excessive thirst (increased water intake), more frequent urination (pee becomes very diluted), loss of appetite, possible nausea and lethargy.

The two most common kidney issues affecting pets are:

  • Acute Renal Failure: is a sudden impairment of kidney function over a short time (a few days or weeks).
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): may develop slowly and worsen over time (a few months to years).

Something to keep in mind is that toxins can build up quickly in the body when the kidneys are damaged (since they are vital for waste elimination), so your little one's immune system may quickly nosedive. So for acute renal failure or chronic kidney disease, we'd suggest adding a natural kidney support kit like NHV Renal Health Kit to help restore your furbaby's immune health. The 3 natural formulations in this kit contain organic, wild-crafted ingredients that support the liver and kidneys and are also beneficial for healthy immune function.

How NHV Renal Health Kit Reduces Symptoms of Kidney Disease

No pet parent wants to hear about their little one suffering from kidney disease. The scary part is that our furry friends often won't show any symptoms until at least 75% of one or both kidneys is damaged. Don't worry though! Tripsy™ contains a soothing blend of herbs like Echinacea purpurea, Gravel root, Marshmallow, Parsley piert, Stone root and Wild hydrangea that support healthy kidney function, waste removal (urinary health) and soothing inflammation. Milk Thistle works to support gentle detoxification in the liver and kidneys as well as increase immunity. Stimmune contains ingredients like Astragalus, Echinacea, Oregon grape and Myrrh used traditionally to restore healthy immune function and fight infection, while herbs like Asian Ginseng are beneficial for improving overall vitality (increased energy) and helping the body adapt to stress (may reduce nausea).

FAQ

Can I give all the supplements together?

Yes of course! Tripsy, Milk Thistle and Stimmune were formulated by a vet and master herbalist to complement one another and provide comprehensive support for canine or feline renal health support. For best results, leave a two hour window between administering NHV natural supplements and any other medications or vet-approved treatments.

Is protein dangerous for my cat?

All cats require a certain level of protein. For kitties suffering from kidney issues, you will want to include a phosphorus binder into their meal plan. Protein can be hard to break down and very taxing on kidneys. For a personalized dietary plan for your pet, schedule a consultation with Dr. Amanda and see what might benefit your cat the most.

What is the amount of silymarin in the Milk Thistle?

Our extraction process is state of the art and we use only the best, organic and wildcrafted ingredients that we can get our hands on! No two plants are identical in nature so every batch may differ slightly in color and nutrient density. NHV Milk Thistle contains anywhere from 80-90% silymarin.

Can I use this kit for my pet’s urinary tract infection?

Yes. The unique blend of botanical ingredients in this kit like Stone Root, Parsley Piert and Wild Hydrangea have been used for centuries in traditional and modern herbalism to combat urinary tract infections.

What are the key markers for kidney disease?

If toxins in the kidneys build up to a level where your furkiddo feels ill, they have a condition called uremia. Keeping them below the uremia level means that they will feel pretty normal and can maintain a long and happy life. The most important indicator of uremia is elevated levels of the compound creatinine. Creatinine is a by-product of muscle break-down and is typically in small amounts in the blood. The kidney consistently removes it unless there is a renal function issue. We are able to figure out the severity of the kidney disease by looking at creatinine blood levels. A newer parameter called SDMA (symmetrical dimethylarginine) becomes abnormal much sooner than creatinine does and is becoming more commonly recorded. Another marker is the blood urea nitrogen (BUN). This measure is similar to creatinine but is influenced by dietary protein and kidney function. These three markers are essential to determining and managing the severity of your furry friend’s kidney health concerns. Depending on the stage of the kidney disease, we recommend changing the diet (to a renal-friendly diet) and adding supplements.
