What is Conjunctivitis in Cats?

Conjunctivitis can occur in one or both eyes and is most often the result of a bacterial or viral infection. Other possible causes include allergies, irritants, and fungal infections. If only one eye is affected, then it may be an inflamed tear sac or a foreign object causing the problem. Do not use with existing corneal ulcers.

FAQ

Do I put this directly in my cat’s eye or in his food?

Ey-Eas works best when applied topically directly to the eye. Some pets may not tolerate this, so giving Eye Eas in the food is an acceptable alternative.

Does this sting?

Ey-Eas is a very gentle, natural cat eye infection remedy and should not cause stinging. Some pets are a little bit averse to drops being put in their eyes, and Ey-Eas is a bit sticky, so you may notice a small amount of head shaking and paw rubbing in the first few seconds after application.

Can this be used for my cat's corneal ulcer?

No, Ey-Eas cat eye infection remedy should not be used to treat corneal ulcers. If your cat has an existing corneal ulcer, it is important that you not put anything into the eye except for veterinary-approved medications. This could cause further damage to the eye.

Can my cat get pink eye from my dog?

Conjunctivitis, or "pink eye", is often caused by a bacterial infection. Though these infections are technically contagious, it would generally require very close contact to be passed between pets.
