Leonberger

Overview

Also known as ‘The Leo’, Leonbergers are big and sweet dogs that originated in Germany in the mid-nineteenth century. They take the name from their lionlike appearance. They have a gentle nature and serene patience and they enjoy the companionship of the whole family. Bred as farm dogs and family companions, the Leos are eager to please and are wonderful family dogs. They are fast learners and their calm and pleasant natures make them excellent therapy dogs.
