Smudgie's Bladder Crystals Support

Smudgie's Bladder Crystals Support

"Ordered first time in August 2021 and received in September. Re-ordered in December and received within a week. Our cat, Smudgie, was very sick in early August. he was unable to pee and was leaving a mess all over the house. we took him to a vet and was diagnosed with a blocked urethra and crystals in his bladder. The vet initially suggested surgery but his vitals were too weak and he wouldn't have survived the surgery. We let him stay at the vets for two more nights and they were feeding him [pharmaceutical name removed] urinary track food plus doing other things as well. He came home and was better, but we were told he would have to be on [pharmaceutical name removed] the rest of his life. In addition to being very expensive and only available by prescription, he hated the food. I went on line and found an alternative [pharmaceutical name removed] that was much cheaper, didn't require a prescription and that he would eat. As well, the vet had given him some pills which were a huge challenge to get him to take (it often appeared that he swallowed them, then he would spit them out). Needless to say, the pills weren't working and I went back to the web to find an alternative. That is when I came upon the NHV products. We started with two doses a day and are now doing one dose with a combination of [pharmaceutical name removed] and regular cat food. He is back to his normal self and plays with his "mousie" the way he used to. The advantage of NHV is that it is a liquid given by syringe. He still hates it, but he can't spit it out. We make it a bit more palatable by giving him his evening meal immediately after the NHV. I would recommend the combination of tripsy and milk thistle because it is relatively inexpensive (we paid under a $100 Canadian and we are still using the bottles from the September purchase. It will probably be late January before we have to open the December purchase. It works for us and is a lot easier to administer. The good news is that we are also able to feed Smudgie occasionally with regular cat food." - John
