Description
Did you know that the hormones produced by your pet’s thyroid gland play an important role in digestion? Hypothyroidism in pets can significantly impact your pet’s gut health, leading to a range of digestive issues.
Hypothyroidism in pets is more common in dogs than in cats, but both species can be affected. Some of the most common symptoms include weight gain, lethargy, and coat and skin issues, but fewer people know about the complex relationship between hypothyroidism and digestive health.
The hormones that the gut relies on for proper functioning are produced in the thyroid. When the thyroid is underactive, the gut can become underactive as well, leading to poor nutritional absorption and constipation.
Because nutrition is important for both preventing and treating hypothyroidism, tackling hypothyroidism in pets requires supporting hypothyroidism as well as nutrition and digestion.
Supporting the Thyroid and NHV Thyro-Up
NHV Thyro-Up may support pets in a variety of ways. It may be used alongside your vet’s recommendations and even improve their effectiveness.
The herbs found in NHV Thyro-up may help balance the thyroid, stimulate the immune function, and provide anti-inflammatories and antioxidants.
Gut Health and NHV Probiotic + Prebiotic
Hypothyroidism slows down the bodily processes, including digestion. This can lead to various issues like constipation, bloating, and even the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the intestine.
NHV Probiotic + Prebiotic may soothe issues like constipation while adding good bacteria into the gut. These probiotics contain 7 strains of good bacteria and are easy to add directly to food.
Nutrient Absorption and NHV Multi Essentials
Nutritional deficiencies in pets may contribute to impaired thyroid functioning.
NHV Multi Essentials may help improve digestion and nutritional absorption with herbs like Oregon grape, marshmallow, and more. It also contains nutritive ingredients like kelp, which naturally contains vitamins and minerals (such as iodine and selenium) important for pets with hypothyroidism.
Helping Your Hypothyroid Pet
Curious about supporting underactive thyroids in pets? Natural supplements offer an additional way to support your fur kiddo and may be used alongside your vet’s recommendations. Remember that addressing hypothyroidism is best paired with supplements that also address related gut issues.
