What are Antioxidants?

Antioxidants are molecules that combat free radicals in the body and help keep them in check. Free radicals are required for the body to fight infections effectively, but if levels get too high, degenerative conditions like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are likely to develop. Antioxidants are commonly found in fruits, veggies, and plants. Vitamins E and C are well-known antioxidants.

Rabbit Supplements with Antioxidant Support

We all want our pets to live long and healthy lives. Sadly, our little ones will likely get sick during their lifetime. Anytime your furkiddo is battling an illness, their immune system becomes weakened, leading to a buildup of toxins in the body. This buildup of toxins may exhaust the liver and kidneys and leave your furkiddo’s body vulnerable to secondary infections or more severe health conditions like cancer. To help support the affected areas of your pet’s body, natural supplements like NHV Turmeric are beneficial for keeping free radicals in check and helping boost liver function.

Why Can’t I Give My Pet Turmeric From The Kitchen?

Turmeric on its own is not bioavailable for pets. It needs to be combined with specific herbs to bring out any health benefits. This list often includes black pepper, but due to both spices' strong odor and flavor, if you were to add them to your pet’s meal directly, they would likely avoid their food bowl. What makes NHV Turmeric unique is that it has been formulated specifically for pets by a holistic vet and master herbalist with over 50 years of experience. Our gentle formulation means you can safely increase the dosage when your pet needs extra support.

How NHV Turmeric for Rabbits Supports Health and Vitality

Getting a diagnosis for a tumor or serious infection may be scary. However, with the proper care plan, your bunny can still maintain a long and healthy life! NHV's Turmeric contains the active compound Curcumin which has been used for centuries to help improve liver detoxification and add extra antioxidant support to scavenge for free radicals, help relieve inflammation and enhance healing. Often bundled with Milk Thistle because of its antioxidant properties, our formulation of Turmeric also contains black pepper, which helps improve digestion by increasing bile flow and may even help decrease harmful cholesterol levels. Turmeric is a highly versatile herb and works on all affected areas of the body, so it is ideal support if your pet has a weakened immune system.

FAQ

What supplements do rabbits need?

Rabbits cannot make their own vitamins, so they must get all of their nutrients from the food they eat (vegetables, pellets, hay, etc.) and from caecotrophs. If your bun is not getting everything they need, adding supplements like a multi-vitamin or NHV Turmeric can be great for supporting your pet’s health and vitality.

Why can’t I give my bunny turmeric from the kitchen?

This list often includes black pepper, but due to the strong odor and flavor of both spices, if you were to add them to your pet’s meal directly, they would likely avoid their food bowl. How much turmeric can I give my rabbit?
