Pulmonary Edema in Cats

Products for: Pulmonary Edema

Pulmonary edema occurs when fluid accumulates in the tissues, airways, or air sacs of the lungs. The common term for this disorder is fluid in the lungs.

Cats of all ages and breeds can be affected by fluid in the lungs. It has many causes including pneumonia, cardiomyopathy (disease of the heart,) anemia, trauma, and toxins, to name a few. The build-up of fluid in the lungs prevents the sufficient intake of oxygen, which can be dangerous to your cat.
