Resthyro for cats

Hyperthyroidism in cats is caused by excess production of the thyroid hormones (T3 and T4. One of the most common causes of feline hyperthyroidism is a hormone-producing benign tumor

Most cases of cats with hyperthyroidism are older pets (generally over 10 years of age). Clinical signs of feline hyperthyroidism include:

  • Hyperactivity / Hyperexcitability
  • Weight loss
  • Increased appetite
  • Vomiting/ diarrhea
  • Increased thirst
  • Increased urination
  • Hair loss
  • Excessive appetite
  • Increased heart rate
  • Shortness of breath
  • Seborrhea
  • Chronic Skin Infections

They may also experience secondary problems such as mild liver, kidney or heart disease. If your cat is experiencing liver problems we suggeset NHV Milk Thistle; for kidney issues we suggest NHV Tripsy; and for heart conditions, we suggest combining NHV Hearty Heart.

To be taken twice daily. Determine your pet’s weight and then use the easy chart below to determine the correct dose. This is the minimum dosage.

Pet's Weight Dosage

0 - 15 lb = 0.5 ml

16 - 30 lb = 1.0 ml

31 - 45 lb = 1.5 ml

46 - 60 lb = 2.0 ml

61 - 75 lb = 2.5 ml

Over 75 lb = 3.0 ml

For small animals (rabbits, ferrets), avians and reptiles use 1 drop for every 2 lb of body weight.

How to Administer
Shake well before use. The easiest method is to use the dropper provided and place the drops into your pet’s food or favorite treat. You can also use the dropper and squirt directly into the pet’s mouth.

Some pets can be finicky, if this occurs consider hiding the drops in foods most pet’s love such as fish, chicken or yogurt or a favourite treat. If your pet only eats dry food then soak a few kibbles at feeding time.

For Best Results

Odie is 14 1/2 he is a DLH Kitty and he has elevated thyroid levels. Not sure how it’s working. We go back to the vet in May to see if his numbers are coming down. I will post a better review after the visit. Odie eats it well in his food so that is always a plus!! *

Have only been using the resthyro/turmeric for 2-3 weeks & so far my 12 year old male cat Pepper seems better. He's a bit calmer & isn't as vocal & constantly pacing around me while I'm preparing his food. He is fed 2-3 times more wet food than he ate before becoming hyperthyroid & there is always dry food out but he still sometimes acts like he's starving. Hopefully with more time & eating so much more he will start putting back on the 2 lbs he lost. He is a small cat & originally only weighed about 8.5 lbs so now he is nothing but skin & bones. When Pepper was diagnosed as hyperthyroid the vet prescribed methimazole & within 2-3 weeks of taking Pepper was throwing up constantly, fortunately mostly foamy. Since the methimazole was the only thing different, stopped giving it to him & within 4-5 days Pepper was able to keep his food & water down. I then started looking for a natural way to heal his hypothyroidism & initially found Thyroid Support Gold from Pet Wellbeing, but after a couple of months of taking he still acted like he was starving & was very vocal & antsy. I then went searching again & found the NHV website. So ordered & so far this seems to be working. Pepper also seems to like the resthyro/turmeric formula much better than the other brand because he always cleans his plate where he wouldn't before. *

My cat cried constantly throughout the day I took her to the vet's and they told me she probably needed blood work, a special diet and pills twice a day. I decided it was too much for her physically and opted for natural products. I added the Resthyro liquid into her canned food every day and she is doing great. No more crying. I am do happy with this product. Best of all she eats her food with Resthyro in it without hesitation. I recommend this product and urge you to try it before expensive lab work and trying to get your cat to take pills twice a day. A healthy gentler way to help your animal feel better and live longer *

My 17yr old orange tabby, AC, has hyperthyroidism and takes the vet prescribed medication for it, but he was still having so many side affects of the disease. He was very noisy at night time, he was licking his fur so much that he was going bald around his belly & the back of his legs. I started giving him the Resthyro, I drop it into a little dish with his shredded chicken and he licks it all up. Since we started the drops, he has calmed down and he has all of his hair back. He has a much better quality of life, so we will continue with the Resthyro. *

So far so good! My cat Hunnie has been on Resthyro for about a month now. She is no longer restless and howling at night. She’s always had a hearty appetite but it is no longer over the top. She is still underweight , but I think that is a slower process ... little by little. But I would definetly recommend. *

Has really helped my 17 year old for the past year after the regular medicine caused a severe allergic reaction. She has been doing very well taking this once a day. It took a little while to settle on just once a day as she is a tiny cat. It is given her a really good quality of life. I would really recommend this as your first option. *

I just happened upon your website by the grace of God! I have had cats my whole life and have never turned one away that somehow found me. I also rescue ferals. I inherited my mothers male cat Penny when she passed away in 2006 and he has been great until around January he started losing weight fast, going crazy and keeping us awake all night. I took him to our vet, who did a ton of tests to inform me a few days later that Penny had hyperthyroidism. He started Penny on medicine but after weeks and even months Penny wasnt getting better. He upped the dosage and Penny got worse. So I took a chance and ordered your Hyperthyroidism Kit, we have been doing it twice a day since March 2018 and Penny is eating good, gaining weight, grooming himself, playing and even though he had lost some muscle mass he looks so much better now. I stopped giving him the prescription rx the vet prescribed. When I called them to see about taking him in for blood work to see what his numbers were they said dont bother if youre not going to follow our protocol! Oh yeah I forgot to include that Penny is 21 years old! Thank you Thank you for your wonderful healing products! *

I have been using Rethyro for about two years for my year-old kitty Sasha . It has stabilized the hyperthyroidism, and it is gentler on her system than the synthetic drugs you would get from a vet who only uses traditional medications. The cat I had previously also had hyperthyroidism, and I went the traditional route, and the chemical the vet gave her was worse than the disease, and I believe it contributed to the rapid decline of her health. That's why I chose to nhv 's naturopathic medicine for Sasha, and I am really happy with the results. I highly recommend Rethyro and nhv as a whole *

These people know what they are doing. I only wish they made supplements for humans! My cat is 18 and hasn't looked back since she started on Resthyro for hyperthyroidism. Pharmaceutical drugs caused major skin reaction. I will always look to NHV for help. Only wish I'd known about them years ago. *

My female gold cat, Goldie, suddenly got super thin, but still ate and drank water and seemed okay other wise. I started her on NHV for hyperthyroid 1-18-18. Today, she has been on it for ten (10) days, but so far has not gained any weight to notice, but her behavior seems to be a little better. Sure hoping this NHV will soon have her gaining weight and looking a lot better. Can't rate this really well at the moment. *

This is a miracle supplement! My cat was near death. She wouldn’t eat and was throwing up all the time, which caused dehydration problems. The vet couldn’t help because the meds they prescribed made her even sicker. I was so heart broken because I didn’t know what to do and she was going down hill quick. Then I found this product online and thought I would give it a try.(Worth the money) The first week was hard because it takes a while to go thru the system like all supplements do. A week later she was eating on her own again! I was so stunned. What a miracle. She looks so healthier. Thank you so much for this product!! ❤️❤️❤️ *

I have only been giving my 10 yr old cat this for a couple weeks, 2x a day. Before I started, I had just had him at the vet for a check up..( I have known he has hyperthyroid for awhile now) He was put on a reg script of hyperthyroid meds...long ago...but, I have not been 100 % consistent with it, I have read about bad side effects and am generally not one to always go the traditional medicine route, I prefer more natural therapies when possible. He never seemed poorly, he ate good, he was kind of hyper at night, more so than his 2 siblings that we also have...but, again, being hyper at night is kind of normal for cats. He still groomed himself, was still social and, I wasn't too worried, but still keep up on regular blood work to try and monitor him. I had him tested in July, his T4 was at 7.5. High, but not dangerous...I had it checked again about a month ago and it jumped to 10. Kind of scary. They checked his blood pressure and it was ok. He had started to refuse food...and was throwing up. The vet wanted him back on his meds...and to check back in about 4 weeks. I wanted to try this first. I'm not kidding, the very same day I started him on this, he did not refuse his wet food. ( I feed all of my cats organic, grain free food) He has been eating like a champ. Which brings me some peace that something is working. I wont know for sure the extent of how well this is helping him until I have his T4 levels checked again...but...I'm praying the numbers go down. I have another cat, Frankies brother Leo, who has had some mild kidney issues, I plan to start him on a kidney support supplement to help him. Thank you NHV! *

I have used Tripsy, Multi-essentials for cats, matricalm, and resthyro for my senior cats for the past few years. I mix a dropper full of each in their food in the morning and night. It seems to slow the aging process and help with their general health. In particular, I give my hyper thyroid cat the resthyro and the conventional medicine and together they seem to help. *

After my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroid and told a $1400.00 treatment was the only cure. My husband said hell no. I had used tripsy for my previous cat and tried the Resthyro. Shortly after giving it to her she was back to eating and drinking normally. 3 weeks later she is back to her usual cat behavior. Even playing with her toys. Go to your vet for diagnosis then purchase the herbal blend that will work for a lot less. My cat is almost 7 yrs and 11 pounds and we are giving her 5 drops in the morning and 5 at night. Love this company. Thanks NHV. *

My 15 year old kittie Ochun is hyperthyroid and the oral [**pharmaceutical name removed] looked like it was killing her, so we switched to the topical ear application. Not only did she HATE the ear application, she now has gone deaf and I am sure it is from the medication going into the ear so close to the auditory nerves. Anyway, I found the Resthyro and have stopped the [**pharmaceutical name removed] after gradually changing for a month. Her coat is better, her appetite is great, she is a very happy girl. Thank you so much for your products! *

My cat responded very well to this product a few years ago. His coat went from dry to lush and his eyes stopped bugging out. Unfortunately, the company I was buying it from came out with their own formulation and I lost track of the NHV version for a while. Now that I've found it, my cat has been back on it for three weeks and I already notice that he is starting to gain a bit of weight and has stopped yowling so much so I think it is making a positive difference. I'll need to give it some more time to see how it works in the long term. *

Junior's mom - Sunny Cali | March 27, 2017

My 13 yr old Junior was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I have him on the Hyperthyroidism kit, Tripsy and Hearty heart. I have seen positive results using all three. He's been taking in for 3 weeks now and his energy level is way better. He hasn't played in months and I now catch him playing with his brother. His coat looks SO much better. It looked quite greasy and matted all down his back. Not greasy any more. He generally looks like he FEELS better. That's what matters to me. He's not on any meds, just these products as well as flower essences and Homeopathic remedies. I know there's no cure but I want my Junior to feel 'better'. The flower essence for vomiting has REALLY helped. He used to throw up at least once a day. Now it's a couple of times a month, if that. A TRICK I've recently learned, after having to give my 17 yr old Beautiful some nasty meds at the end of her life due to kidney failure a year ago. My poor baby girl would foam at the mouth and let the meds just dribble and refused to swallow. One of the worst moments of my life. 😢 But I learned to use empty capsules (size 00) for ALL meds and/or supplements. It doesn't matter whether it a powder, liquid, tablets or chews...they all go into capsules. I wish I knew of this decades ago. I place the drops of each herbal supplement INTO the capsule(s), AT THE TIME of giving it to him 2x a day. I have a cup of water in front of me and a syringe with water held in my mouth, as I squat behind Junior. I quickly dunk the capsule filled with the herbal supplements into the water, use my left hand to cup his chin to gently elevate his head, use my ring finger on my right hand to gently pry the corner of his mouth open, with my middle finger and thumb I GENTLY place the capsule at the back of mouth and QUICKLY push back the capsule with my thumb. I keep his mouth closed with my left hand and squirt (NEVER directly into the mouth...had very bad experience once) teeny tiny amounts (equivalent to a drop or two of water at a time) towards his canine tooth (practically touching his tooth, while his mouth is closed) and the droplets of water will collect into the crease/corner of the mouth and he will naturally swallow the capsule with little to no stress. Dunking the capsule will get it very slimy and your furry baby will automatically swallow it. You may not need to squirt any water but I always give him a syringe of water with every capsule, to insure he gets enough water. I usually do about 2-3 capsules for all the herbal supplements, flower essences and homeopathic remedies, along with his Omega 3-6-9, Mush, Probiotics, Vitamins and CoQ10. All of the above have truly made a difference. I took my Junior to the vet about 2 years ago. He just looked awful. I almost never saw him walking around the house, he was always sleeping. He was barely eating. His coat was nasty. He's not cured but definitely a different cat. Our furry babies are with us for a blink of an eye. Try their products. You'll be pleasantly surprised. No side effects, like most pharmaceuticals. *

My female cat who is about 14 years old was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and also some weakness on her kidneys. After searching I found NVH natural pet products so I give resthyro a try plus she is also on Tripsy for her kidneys. I had been using it since October 2016 while she was on [**pharmaceutical name removed] at the same time. Then within a few months I started reducing the doce of meds and giving more of the tonic until I completed took her off . I believe this is helping her overall and I prey I don't have to put her back on meds. She is keeping her weight , not loosing and eating well. No long ago after that my male cat of 16 years old also was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and he is getting the same stuff as well. Thank you for making an amazing product and help my babies naturally. *

My cat Mr. Raoul, is 19 years old. Vet diagnosed him with hyperthyroidism, and gave some meds that he would throw-up. He was very thin with no appetite. Started giving him a full dropper of your supplements every morning. He is now eating and seems to be responding. I realize that at his age he doesn't have a lot of time left on earth. However, I want him to be comfortable till the end. This product seems to be helping. *

I have 2 hyperthyroid cats and with symptoms of incessant yowling and vomiting. After only two days on Resthyro their symptoms disappeared completely! They have now been on it for : months. The symptoms are still minimal and they haven't really gained any weight but they are obviously more comfortable and at least are eating now. I looked into the drug treatments but there is no guarantee of a cure & and almost guaranteed side effects. This treatment is no more expensive and much less negative! *

lindagalfi - Illinois | October 2, 2016

I became aware of NHVNatural Pet Products this past spring, when, on Valentine's Day, my 14 year old hyperthyroid cat, Jax, accidentally fell from the half-wall of my 2 story condo, and dislocated his hip when he landed on his feet. When I rushed him to the emergency vet, they tried to re-set his hip, but it would not stay in place. My vet suggested surgery, a femoral head ostectomy, to remove the knobby end of the bone which was grinding against Jax's pelvis. She said that because of his hyperthyroidism, he would be a higher risk patient to anesthetize, but she thought he was tough enough to make it through the surgery. My Jax is a tough, beautiful Norwegian Forest Cat who, when healthy, weighed between 15 -17 pounds. At the time he fell, he was 10 pounds, very skinny, and on [**pharmaceutical name removed] gel, since he fought being pilled like the devil. We rolled the dice, and Jax made it through the surgery, but the anesthesia took a toll on him. He had diahrrhea, and loss of appetite. I switched him to boiled fresh chicken, and some canned Hill's post-op recovery food. He was recovering slowly over the first month, and then suddenly became lethargic. After blood tests revealed his liver enzymes and his thyroid levels were climbing, my vet recommended milk thistle, or better yet, [**pharmaceutical name removed], which contains both milk thistle and Sam-E, both of which are beneficial to liver function. But [**pharmaceutical name removed] only comes in pill form, and I did not want to have to traumatize and fight Jax every day with multiple pill treatments. So I searched online for liquid milk thistle, and found NHVNatural PetProducts. NHV had the biggest bottle for the best price, so we started down the naturopathic road. It worked. Jax's liver enzymes returned to the normal range. But his thyroid numbers were still climbing, and he was continuing to lose weight, ounce by ounce. He went down to 8.7 pounds, and had almost no muscle tissue left. I went back to the NHV website and found Resthyro, and bought a bottle, thinking it might be my last ditch effort to help my buddy Jax. You see, Jax's hip was healing, with new scar tissue creating a tough new connection to his pelvis, but without that muscle mass around his femur, he had no strength in his leg, was limping badly, and in considerable pain. I cried when I even looked at him, because I thought I was going to lose my best buddy. Then I started giving him the Resthyro in April. I also started feeding him exclusively high protein wet cat food, boiled chicken, and fish. Within a week I saw a difference in his energy. His appetite improved, and he started walking around the house more. His eyes seemed brighter, and he came to me for cuddles, instead of me bothering him. Over time, his pain diminished, to the point where he no longer needs any pain medication. His coat became gorgeous, just like it was when he was a young, healthy cat! He gets a shaving twice a year, because his long, thick coat mats easily, and it eliminates the hairball problem, but the vet usually has to sedate him for the groomer, which means he has to have blood tests done first. In late August he got his "lion" haircut. And LO! AND BEHOLD! ALL of Jax's blood test results were NORMAL!!!! My vet was SO pleased, and told me to keep on doing whatever it is I am doing for him! I told her about the RESTHYRO, and she took notes for future reference! It is now barely 5 months since I started him on the RESTHYRO. He has gained some weight, but the incredible thing is I am beginning to see muscle mass increase in his affected leg!!! He is lately jumping up onto and off of things I never thought he'd be able to again (but NOT the half-wall, thank goodness!) His leg is sturdier and getting stronger every day. Jax is still on the [**pharmaceutical name removed] gel, but the side effects have even lessened. I am amazed, and truly thankful for this product, and have just ordered the RESTHYRO Kit, which includes TURMERIC drops for additional health benefits. My sweet Jax has made it through the toughest time in his life, thanks to a WONDERFUL vet, RESTHYRO and NHVNatural Pet Products. Thank you, thank you, thank you, NHV!!! *

Ajia was diagnosed in May with Small Cell Lymphoma, quite distressful, her kidneys showed weakening and vets were concerned about her liver. She also was vomiting profusely and losing weight (5.5?lbs). She was also Hyperthyroid. The pet hospital prescribed [**pharmaceutical name removed] (a chemo drug) for the lymphoma, of which we were very leary, given the side effects. They also prescribed [**pharmaceutical name removed] for the vomiting, a steroid. I immediately started my own research and discovered NHV herbal supplements and the benefits and support they could deliver for her condition. I ordered the Cancer Fighter Pack (of which she is taking full therapeutic dosages) along with Resthyro (1/2 therapeutic dosages). After a 2nd vet opinion, we agreed to try the [**pharmaceutical name removed], though, after about one week Ajia refused to take it! She is taking [**pharmaceutical name removed] but her vomiting issues are much more manageable now, so she will be off this very soon. She has been on [**pharmaceutical name removed] for her thyroid since April. But she Truly loves her NHV Herbal Supplements! Ajia recently had a blood panel taken. After less than 8 weeks on the NHV products, along with Reishi mushroom, probiotics and a high protein, mainly raw diet, Ajia had Amazing results: her kidney and liver #'s both in the healthy range and her thyroid level was reduced by 60%! She just has a bit more to go to get that # down, then we will slowly wean her off the thyroid med while increasing the Resthyro. All Great News! Thank you NHV for supporting the health of our cat Ajia! *

I started my 19 year old semi-feral kitty on Resthyro two weeks ago. He was showing signs of hyperthyroid like eating more, losing weight, and having dilated pupils. I didn't notice much of a difference during the first week, but during this second week he has regained some weight, his pupils are normal and he is eating a normal amount of food. I am thrilled. My kitty is like my child and I was not ready to say goodbye to him. I have him on the starter dose of .5ml, so he will be able to increase his dose if symptoms begin again later on. I am so happy with this company and the helpful people. I am planning on trying the Old Timer for my kitty's arthritis and possibly another formula for my 11 year old rabbit with chronic bladder infections. *

Wanted to summit this update on my cat, Miracle, who has been taking Resthyro and Milk Thistle since July 2015. She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in Dec. 2014 and started on [**pharmaceutical name removed]. She was stabilized with T4 at 2.5 taking 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet of [**pharmaceutical name removed] twice a day. However, in July 2015 she became very sick with lived problems, most likely due to [**pharmaceutical name removed]. After 8 days of treatment with conventional medicine, she was dying. I stopped the conventional meds, with the exception of the [**pharmaceutical name removed], and started her on the milk thistle. She was very much improved after two days. A week later, I started her on the Resthyro, mainly because hyperthyroidism is a progressive disease and I didn't want to have to increase the [**pharmaceutical name removed]. Just had her T4 checked, January 2016. Her level is now DOWN to 2.2, even though a year has passed and one would normally expect to see an increase. The Resthyro is definitely working at keeping her T4 down so that I don't have to increase the [**pharmaceutical name removed]. Also had a blood chemistry panel done and her liver is completely healthy! I credit the milk thistle for that, and Miracle continues to take milk thistle twice daily, along with her Resthyro. *

I have been giving Chester, my 13 year old cat, Resthyro, Tripsy and Milk Thistle for over 1,5 years now. My cat diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and he did not do well with the vet prescribed pharmaceuticals. It almost killed him! It was so scary. That was when I searched for a more natural option and found NHV. The supplements have helped him a lot. He is now happy, he is back to himself playing with his cat and dog siblings as well as gaining weight. Best of all, he is grooming again. I have been giving the Milk Thistle and Tripsy as a preventative as liver and kidneys can be affected by hyperthyroidism. The NHV supplements have been so positive for us and we are so happy with the results. *

Just an up date on Mr. Winston (Male cat, 13 years & started Resthyro at the beginning of Nov 2015): He has stopped yelling at night and doesn't eat so much now and drinks less waster. The good part is that I can sleep now. *

My 19-year old, 5.5 lb, indoor/outdoor cat had been showing signs of hyperactivity, including increased thirst and hunger. During some time outside one night, she bolted. She was found 2 miles from our home the next day. The woman who found her was a profound cat-lover and took her to the vet who ran test and concluded that she probably had hyperthyroid and kidney disease issues but wanted to run further tests to be sure. After doing lots of research, soul-searching, and asking questions through your website, we decided to try Resthyro and Tripsy to treat our old kitty's symptoms. We didn't notice a difference until 1.5 to 2 weeks into administering the drops. This week, she's relaxing and not constantly asking for food and water. There truly seems to be a difference in her demeanor. Very pleased to this point. Going to try Old Timer drops now to treat her arthritis. Thank you for providing non-pharma alternatives!!! *

I am so far getting great results with the Resthyro and the Mellit for my 18 year old ... soon to be 19 next month. His thyroid was out of wak, which created him having to go on insulin again (this has happened two times during the last couple of years). This was the first time I tried the mellit first and it got his insulin under control, then I started the Resthyro ... which helped to get back the thyroid back into a normal range (although he is on thyroid pills, he was so irratic, I was getting depressed and worried that this was going to be a big issue for him, and it was until i started to use your products) ... I can't say enough about your products ... they have really made a difference for my cat. The Mellit took about one month (and he is off the insulin now) but I continue with the Melllit. The Resthyro, has made all the difference and I'm hoping that continues. He has only been on it for just over a month now so I will continue to have his blood tested for awhile to make sure, we stay on the right track. *

Our cat, Logan, has been using Resthyro since he was 9 and he is now 17 years young! When he was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, he was prescribed [**pharmaceutical name removed] and he just could not tolerate it. We tried acupuncture and Chinese medicine but nothing worked. We found Resthyro and within a week Logan had improved. It was about 2 weeks before he was feeling like his normal health. We took him to the vet for his check up after a couple of months on the NHV product and his levels were in the good range again. If we skip a day, we saw a difference in him. Our vets even confirmed this when we had skipped 3/4 days of the supplements and his levels shot up again. As he is getting older, we have been increasing the dosage to keep him comfortable. As for the weight lose, after taking the supplements Logan was not losing any more weight. He was slowly gaining it back and it took a couple of years before he was back to his original weight. *

I started him on resthyro and seen an improvement in his behaviour straight away. I then started on Tripsy and have noticed the hair loss is finally diminishing. he has lost a lot of weight so I was only giving .5ml a day.I am goingto increase to see if this can help him more. I am delighted with results it has saved his life. I started my 14yr and 13 yr old females on old timer and see adefinateimprovement in movement and humour! thank you *

One month ago (Aug 2015), I bought this (NHV Hyperthyroidism Kit 1)for my 20+ year old male cat because he had all the symptoms of having a thyroid problem. He has always been an outdoor cat that is sociable on his own terms. His main diet for 17 years has been local prey (mice, voles, rabbits, quail, doves, etc.) and he’s always been healthy, active, fast and thin. He has his own private sanctuary in the garage and he’s always been smart enough to come inside at night or during cold weather. Two years or so ago we noticed him slowing down and actually becoming more social and a whole lot more vocal. By last year he was hunting less and relying more and more on the dry kibble and canned cat food we offered him. Being accustomed to live caught prey he is very picky when it comes to a canned cat food and the only one he would eat was a salmon pate. He kept getting thinner and thinner, moved slowly and was reluctant to sit down or lay down because of apparent pain and/or discomfort. We began contemplating calling the vet to come out and having him euthanized because we didn’t want him to be in pain. However, his eyes still seemed alert and we just couldn’t make the call. Near the end of August, I ordered the Hyperthyroidism Kit 1 and started him on the drops twice daily. First of all, I tasted the drops myself and found them pleasant tasting so I offered him the drops directly into his mouth. He was okay with one dose but not a second one so I started adding both supplements in his food. I would take about a tablespoon of the cat food, mix in the drops and give him that small amount first to make sure he’d get the full dosage. He’d eat that right away and then I’d give him the rest of the can. Let me stop right here and explain that during my online research into his symptoms and the eventual determination of hyperthyroidism I learned that cat food with seafood, especially salmon, contains high amounts of iodine and iodine is a leading cause of hyperthyroidism. YIKES! I’d been feeding him only salmon pate as well as a kibble that contained salmon. I immediately got rid of all the salmon cat food and changed him to chicken only pate. He’s still very picky but I have found one brand of chicken that he will eat. It has now been one month that he has been on the drops and I am astounded at how well he is doing. He’s moving much quicker now and actually runs up and down the ramps in the garage that lead to his favorite perches. He has gained some weight back but is still thinner than his normal younger thinness. He was devouring two full cans of food a day and is now content with half a can morning and night (1 can a day). His fur is looking a bit shinier and healthier but still not perfect. All in one month! He is also less vocal now and less loud. He also seems to be more alert and has fewer episodes where he just stops and stares at a wall or into space. I would also note that I have been giving him a full dropper dose of each supplement. The recommended dosage is for 1 drop for each 1 pound of body weight and this guy barely weighs in at a pound. I am totally amazed at how well these two supplements have improved our cat’s health and well being. He sits down easier now and gets up faster. Instead of sleeping most of the day, he is back to following us around the property and hanging out with the dog again. He’s almost back to his original annoying and obstinate self. *

Hi. My old lady cat Jade was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, The vet told up she couldn't do the steroid treatment because her white blood cells were already low & the med would lower them more. She suggested an iodine free prescription diet that was super expensive & my cat hated it & wouldn't eat it. I did some research & tried Resthyro, have been using it for awhile now... She started to experience some nausea that I wasn't sure what was the cause so I stopped the Resthyro for a week or so, after about a week & a half without it she got so sick I thought she was going to die... I gave her the resthyro & it helped almost immediately. After a week back in it she's almost back to herself again. This stuff works & amazingly so... She's on it for the rest of her life now. Thank you so much. *

We had started using Resthryo for our 9 year old cat, Nipsey in May 2015. We were giving him the 1 drop for every 2 lbs but had not seen a difference so the vets wanted us to start on the prescription drugs. The drugs did not sit well for Nipsey so we had to stop after 3 day. That is when I decided to call NHV & I am glad we did! They suggested to increase the dosage and after only 1 week, we saw the improvement. He was back to his playful nippy self, running around us and acting like the young cat that he is. His coat & eating habits are better. I wished I had contacted NHV sooner. We are so happy with how he is doing. *

There is no drug currently being used for adrenal hyperplasia that is safe to use in the cat. I have found that Supraglan provides my patients relief from most clinical signs secondary to hyperplasia. It has no effect of adrenal tumors. I also use Supraglan in combination with Mellit and Resthyro. I have found that the combination is more effective in lowering the T4 and blood glucose. *

My old cat wouldn't be alive today if it were not for this product. Stimmune. I was ready to have her euthanized since her sneezing spasms were so severe. She also had a respiratory infection so I got the RESP AID as well. She never sneezes now unless I forget to give her the supplements. *

I have used 2 bottles of this so far for my 12 year old female cat with hyperthyroidism. She was doing very well for about 4 months and then she started losing weight again, so I had to put her on Rx meds, but I AM keeping her on this too. Today the vet said that her heart rate had come way down and she couldn't hear a murmur any longer - but I won't have her labs results until tomorrow. Overall, I'm certain this helps and I was disappointed that she had to go on Rx meds. *

I do cat rescue and have a small cat sanctuary for feral and semi-feral cats. Needless to say, these "untouchables" are virtually impossible to medicate unless it's with drops or a powder (tasteless) that can be added to their food. This spring, one of my older ferals started yowling for food constantly, lost a lot of weight, and began looking really ragged. My vet doesn't do ferals, and trying to trap him and take him to one one of the feral spay/neuter vets was way more than I was ready to deal with, so I did a search online for hyperthyroidism in cats and found your website. I got a bottle of Resthyro ( through Amazon), which arrived last week. Within just a few days he has stopped his yowling, is much calmer, and looks like he has started to gain a little weight! Thank you for a great product! *

Foxy has been on the Resthyro since April 2015 & I am overjoyed with the results. She is eating well and keeping her food down. Her fur is better & seems to be in better health all around. Our vet has also seen the improvement and has told me to continue to do what I am doing! I will be ordering more and trying some of the other NHV products for my other cats Homer and Bombay. *

This product is working really well for my Ramsey. It has really picked him up from his downward spiral. He wasn't doing too well in Dec 2014 but since being on Resthyro, he is no longer losing weight & even filling out a bit. In general, he looks to be feeling better and we are so happy about this. This product really works! *

Cupcakes our 17-year-old hyperthyroid cat was not eating, her fur was thinning and scraggly, she over-groomed and threw up hair daily. She was on the hyperthyroid med from the vet, but it affected her kidneys badly, so we stopped. I had more or less broken-heartedly resigned myself to nursing my cat through her last days. When I read about Resthyro, I decided to give it a try. It has been miraculous! Within 24-48 hours, my cat was eating two small cans of food per day. She has put on weight, her coat looks great, and she is no longer throwing up. I am a true believer!! I have found that giving my cat a couple drops more than the recommended dosage works best for her. I must be diligent with the twice daily dosages or her appetite begins to wane...a small price to pay for the health and happiness of my beloved pet and friend. *

Bella - Colorado | April 23, 2015

My 17 year old cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism she was put on meds by the vet. Giving her pills was not easy and was quite a struggle. They helped for a couple weeks, then Bella began acting up and didn't want to eat and the vet recommended another pill to reduce nausia. Giving pills was no way for Bella or me to enjoy life, so I looked online and decided to try Rethyro. Within a week, she was playing like a kitten, something I hadn't seen her do for years. She is now 17, still eats frequently and sometimes howls, but she is happy and enjoying her life. She has more energy than anyone would expect in a 17 year old cat. *

Resthyro has helped our 13 year old tuxedo put on some weight and mellow out. Before, he was skin & bones, only wanting to caterwaul at all hours of the day. Now, he's gained a few pounds and has recently started eating dry food again (he would previously only eat wet food)! *

NHV products are very helpful. Before my cat has thyroid surgery, she had Resthyro to keep her going. I strongly believed that it worked. Also, I recommend that every owner feed their pets better food, so that their pets don't have thyroid issues. Plenty of brands to pick from, you just have to spend a little more money and do a little more research on the brand. -Frank *

I wish I taken before and after pictures to show the difference Resthryo has made in my cat. I won't go in to all the symptoms and how they are now gone, because if you have a cat with hyperthyroidism you already know the symptoms. She had been keeping herself barely alive eating the prescription food which she hated, but was still near death. She is so altered after only three weeks on Resthyro it is unbelievable I am so grateful. I have already recommended it to several pet owners. *

From Lori C- Our 16 year old cat has been on this supplement for a little over 5 weeks now. She has been healthy all of her life living with a congential heart murmur defect that she was born with. She recently developed hyperthyroidism most likely due to age. We have seen overall improvement in her day to day on this supplement. She is a much happier cat on it. Last week we visited our vet for a follow up for thyroid bloodwork and her number was still high at a 7 but her whole demeanor was fantastic. She has even put on some more weight a little over a half a pound. Too me, being an old cat quality of life is very important. She cant handle the traditional medications for this they have made her sick at any dose so I have resorted to this great supplement. To me our cat being happy is number 1 and at an equilvilant age of an 80 year old person we feel she deserves it. *

We have an elderly cat that was exhibiting signs of hyperthyroidism. He wouldn't take the pills and would throw up the drops. On a whim, we decided to try herbs. We found NHV and liked that they used organic products. We decided to give Resthyro a try and have been using it for the past 8 months. We recently ran out of the supplement and noticed he is a different cat. When he is on Resthyro, he has less tremors, is less vocal, appetite is reduced and he put on weight. He has done very well on this product and it has been our grace. We have just made our order today! *
