Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel typically weighs between 13 to 18 pounds. They have a dependent personality. They love to be with people and shouldn't be left alone for long periods of time. As a breed they are very affectionate, intelligent, and have endless devotion for their companions. Their ancestry can be traced back to the royal courts of England. These beautiful, feathery-eared spaniels are content cuddling in your lap, or indulging in their natural athletic instincts.

- As many as half of all Cavalier King Charles Spaniels may have a congenital blood disorder called idiopathic asymptomatic thrombocytopenia, an abnormally low number of platelets in the blood.
- More than most other breeds, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels need a great deal of companionship and do not enjoy being left alone for more than a few hours.
